Ghost
I´ve seen it all before
I´m counting down the minutes ´till dawn
Messing around
I´m overwhelmed by frustration
I feel like I´m ethtereal
She doesn´t care
But some damage you´re not able to repair
You´re not in love anymore
But that doesn´t mean that you can treat me like I´m not here
I cannot fall asleep, so I´m roaming through the night
Raise a glass of gin and murder all your memory
Oh I know, I know
When I wake up, I am alone
Have you ever watched your own house burning to the ground
Before, oh before
Still matches in my hands I realize what I´ve become
Finally I close my eyes and I know it has just begun
I´m not ghost!

Pale Blue Dress

Pale Blue Dress
And she took my keys
As we walked along the streets
And she whispered in my ears
That she dreamed last night
Of herself being a little child
On the run with her pale blue dress.
We drove into the night
While the cradle passed us by
Until we didn´t know where we were
And we reached for dirty hands and silver eyes
By the light of the day
We were gone.
And we changed our names
And we fell in love again
In the north of Tasmania
But in the aftermath
Our love didn´t last
Now the southern cross is burning.
How lucky you could be if you met the one,
But sadly our love got lost somewhere in
Australia, Australia!

Woods Of Birnam
In the old woods of Birnam
Amongst black oaks
There lies a wooden heart
She comes from a city
Which never falls asleep
But today she plans her escape
She runs through the forest
Leaves foxes behind
She´s trying to find what she lost
Her eyes are wide-open
She spreads her wings
She takes off to watch stars collide
All time she thought she was gonna die
And that she would never see
How it ends
But sometimes it isn´t meant to be
So take your wooden heart
And leave..
She runs for miles
Back to the northern shore
At dawn: The atlantic ocean
She tosses it into the flood
And finally it is forgotten

To Rome, to Rome

To Rome, to Rome
Aquiver and with lots of hope
The train left the station and the air filled with smoke
She´s watching the landscape
While she´s wondering which adventures she will take
So leave all this behind you
There´s plenty more you have to see
And don´t be worried about us
We´ll be waiting here
Flea markets and cheap hostels
She´s on the search for postcards and what kinda person she is
In eternal cities, all on her own
There´s nothing to be ashamed of if you´re feeling left alone
So leave all this behind you
There´s plenty more you have to see
And don´t be worried about us
We´ll be waiting here

Mr. Bonaparte

Mr. Bonaparte
You once sent me a postcard from your trip to Paris
There was a bunch of soldiers - sitting in ruins
In 1812 in Moscow
The russians burned their city down
To stop napoleon from taking their homes
The smell of smoke an iron was lingering in the air
And the night sky slipped into its dress of sanguine
Was it really worth it, Mr. Bonaparte?
When you saw those bodys lying in the dirt
Are you one of them?

Set A Fire To Your Hometown
I´m always waiting for something bigger
But now I´m staring
Are there any stars?
The golden city
A constant liar takes all the beauty
But it will be ok, cause it´s what you want
It will be ok, but don´t get me wrong
I will never be happy in this town
Set a fire to your hometown
Cut these diamonds with your paper sword
The silver street lights lead me the way back
Tonight I realize..
It will never be the same like five years ago
Never be the same as our love was pure
It will never be like the time on your balcony
´Cause you have your wings
I see, then take your wings and fly away

100
And here we´re all the same
A hundred miles from home
In the bosom of the sea
We seem to be so small
A man I used to know
A ghost of his former self
But thirty years of war
have made him solitary
And then I´m finally breathing
The first time in years
When dark clouds are looming
like grey and gloomy towers
How beautiful it is,
to be beneath this sky
I´m overwhelmed by this sight
Beware, the tide will rise

Slow Down
The city is mourning for the summer
I really want us to leave
Here they say: "You cannot be alone"
But nowadays I´m feeling stuck
Love, please take me down to the water
I´m afraid I´ll never get it right
Follow the traces of the golden wonder!
It leads us to places we´ve never been
I like to understand how this is going
It seems like all these trees are burning
Love, please take me dow to the water
I´m afraid I´ll never get it right
You know how much days there are in autumn
Let´s escape and slow down for a while
I´m standing by the river
Where the salmon swim upstream
I washed my hands in cold water
So that they are clean again
And taking all my courage
I wade into the stream
If I´ll ever reach the shore
I will build a house for our own sake
Love, please take me dow to the water
I´m afraid I´ll never get it right
You know how much days there are in autumn
Let´s escape and slow down for a while
